Red Barn Woodwork was founded by Larry Gordon, a head and neck surgeon, who first started woodworking in his youth alongside his father. As his skills and aesthetic evolved, so did his appreciation for the natural beauty of the Hudson Valley. When Hurricane Sandy hit the region in 2012, it felled a large number of trees. Following this natural disaster, he felt a responsibility to create a full-circle design process for the large number of discarded trees. Dr. Gordon and our team of experts now craft furniture solely from fallen trees, in designs inspired by timeless, iconic pieces.
